Client project, delivery late april, fitted bodice with pagoda sleeves, button front blouse, skirt. Blouse of black cotton, using a vogue pattern for the body, and a butterick pattern for the sleeves & button placement, and drafted collar.
Bodice of burgundy velvet, with black venice lace trim and black ornamented buttons
Skirt of black brocade, to fit over a small bustle, pleated ruffle and venice lace trim at hem, sash of velvet if enough leftover from bodice.
Client project/bridal:
Bridal gown, interpreted from an existing gown from 1914, using a photograph from the Kyoto costume book. Ivory silk charmeuse, ivory english tulle, vintage and new beaded trim and lace.
two bridesmaid gowns, mulberry satin with blue/lavender iridescent chiffon overlay. Pattern base from Promenade patterns, drafted front and back bodice overlays to be similar to bride's gown.
